Old friends, new experiences...
My first-ever yoga class yesterday, taken by my lovely friend Allison here in Austin, left me feeling inspired to seek out a yoga class in Brighton. I felt great after the class, and amazingly haven’t felt too achy today as a result of stretching my body in ways it hasn't been stretched in a long time! Also met up with some old friends to see the powerful film ‘Suffragette’, which felt even more frightfully British because I was watching it deep in the heart of Texas! It’s been a lovely week here, filled with memorable meetings with friends and former colleagues, and poignant memories of my life here sixteen years ago – as well as, when I went for a ride on a city bus, the strange sensation that this was somewhere I’d never been before, as the city has expanded and changed so much in the time that I’ve been away. Tomorrow I play my last open mic on my US trip, at El Sol y La Luna, a Tex-Mex restaurant on the famous Sixth Street filled with live music bars. Then on Wednesday it’s home to old Blighty and my darling pups, and getting back into my music-filled life on the other side of the Atlantic! :)
